OPEN HOUSE AT CAPRIKORN FARMS
It’s time for family fun on the farm again! Caprikorn Farms will open to the public and community as it hosts the Annual Farm Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 19th and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 20th. Come by, meet the goats, taste some cheese and have lunch. This year the farm tour will highlight the new energy improvements we made thanks to a Kathleen A.P. Mathias Agriculture Energy Efficiency grant from the Maryland Energy Administration!
Caprikorn Farms makes aged raw goat milk cheeses and pasteurized fresh Chevre. Tours of the goat milking facility, a goat petting zoo, goat-milking demonstrations, and samples of the full line of Caprikorn cheeses - including cheddar, Gouda, feta, jalapeno cheddar, garlic-n-chive cheddar, fresh Chevre and flavored Chevres - all will be available on site. Gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, soup, local apples, cookies and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
Admission to the Annual Farm Open House is free. There will be a charge of $1 to milk a goat or feed the petting zoo goats. In the event of rain, the event will be held the following weekend. Caprikorn Farms is located at 20312 Townsend Road, Gapland, MD 21779.
