Mike Weller is a part-time D.J. at WJEJ. Mike says of his relationship to WJEJ.. "Music and radio are important components of my family’s culture. Our cousin, WJEJ’s John Staub, has owned a radio station throughout my entire life. I have vivid memories of John giving records to my parents and asking for their comments on the artist. I first heard Patsy Cline on a 45 given to my Dad by John. My Mother and Aunt (members of the Harmony Trio) performed live at the grand opening celebration of WJEJ in the Franklin Center. Mike joined the WJEJ staff in 2005. For 29 years he served the community as a firefighter with the Hagerstown Fire Department. 22 of those years were spent as the public education officer. In addition to broadcasting on WJEJ, Mike now works as an instructional designer for a company that develops academic curriculum for the emergency services. Mike says of his love of broadcasting..”If I had to define the top five treasures I’ve been blessed to experience in my life, serving the public on WJEJ would be on that list. I cherish every opportunity to become part of our listener’s lives through the power of radio.
