Farmers Market @ The Arc of Washington County, 820 Florida Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Open to the public. Markets are held the second Friday of each month beginning June 14 through October 10 from 8am-11am. Local farmers are selling seasonal produce, meats, and whole food products. This year’s farmers include: Corner Oak Farms, Honey Hole Apiary, Ivy Hill Farms, and Littons Produce and Berries. Clothed in Christ
Clothed in Christ is a clothing ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church located at 12043 Old Route 16 in Rouzerville. Gently used clothing is available free for anyone in need. We are open the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A soup luncheon will also be available for shoppers. Stop in and see our selection of spring and summer styles. Reach of Washington County, on behalf of the Financial Education Partnership-Washington County, is launching a new program called STARS-Steps to Attaining Resources & Stability.
This FREE six-week program was written and developed from a variety of sources by a group of individuals who have “been there, done that” and wanted to help others in our community. The Washington County Master Gardeners will offer a workshop on gardening for floral design on Saturday, July 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center at 7303 Sharpsburg Pike in Boonsboro. Participants will learn which flowers are best suited to floral design and how to plant and care for them. They will also learn how to rework their gardens for cut flowers and tour the Master Gardeners’ teaching gardens. The cost is $10. Register at the Extension office or call 301-791-1304.
ST. JOHN’S SUMMER SINGERS IN CONCERT AT ST. PAUL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
St. Paul United Methodist Church Special Events is pleased to host St. John’s Summer Singers in a concert entitled “It’s a Small World” on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at 3:00 PM, in the church nave located at 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. Under the direction of Gary Crum and accompanied by Gloria Crum and Eileen Hoffman-Meier, the choir will entertain all with a wide selection of sacred, spiritual, secular, and patriotic music. This is the eleventh year of performing by this 70+ member choir. The choir is comprised of individuals from 20 different local churches who come together each summer simply because they love to sing. They will present six concerts this summer. Where: Riggie Hall at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD, at the corner of Halfway Blvd. and Virginia Ave.
Tickets: $45 per person for crabs, $25 for non-crab dinner and persons under 16 years old. Tickets available at www.cpswc.org or at the office Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On September 7, 2019 from 9:00am until 8:00pm and on September 8, 2019 from 11:00am until 4:00pm the Conococheague Institute, will host a Native American Powwow. This event will feature professional drummers and dancers, reenactments, lifeways demonstrations, and vendors.
Food and beverages will be sold on premises, and guests are invited to bring their own lawn chairs.
Admission is $5.00 per person and those under 12 are free.
