St. Paul United Methodist Women is sponsoring a giant yard sale to benefit missions on Thursday, September 8, and Friday, September 9, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and on Saturday, September 10, from 8:00 AM to noon. The sale will be held in the Family Life Center of the church located at 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. In addition to lots of yard sale “treasures,” there will be clothing, some collectibles, and food for sale. Proceeds will be distributed to many local missions and other missions administered through the United Methodist Women organization. Questions may be directed to Linda Strickler at 717-263-4975.

St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA, will host its Fourth Annual Authors’ Fair & Book Festival on Saturday, October 1, 2016, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the church’s Family Life Center. Authors will be on hand to sell and sign their books. A wide variety of both fiction and non-fiction books will be available. The many different genres include historical fiction, memoirs, Civil War, children’s stories, mystery, romance, autobiography, cookbooks, cat stories, poetry, self-help, and Holocaust stories. Authors will also lead mini-seminars on various topics throughout the day. From 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, author Virginia Stake will present a religious Civil War drama she has written. Runners and walkers are needed for Team CASA, the official charity team of Maryland CASA Association at the 2016 Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday, October 15 at M&T Bank Stadium. Named the 2015 Charity Team of the Year, Team CASA is a group of 160+ runners and walkers who gather to raise funds and awareness of CASA’s efforts to recruit and train adult advocates for abused and neglected children. Participants can participate in either the: 5K, Team Relay, Marathon, or Half Marathon. Start times vary by race; however, the first race starts at 8 am.
