Farmers Market @ The Arc of Washington County, 820 Florida Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Open to the public. Markets are held the second Friday of each month beginning June 14 through October 10 from 8am-11am. Local farmers are selling seasonal produce, meats, and whole food products. This year’s farmers include: Corner Oak Farms, Honey Hole Apiary, Ivy Hill Farms, and Littons Produce and Berries. Clothed in Christ is a clothing ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church located at 12043 Old Route 16 in Rouzerville. Gently used clothing is available free for anyone in need. We are open the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A soup luncheon will also be available for shoppers. Stop in and see our selection of spring and summer styles. Over 70,000 books of all types, plus CDs, DVDs, sheet music, artwork, puzzles, games, rare books, and collector’s items, will be on sale at bargain prices on Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9--at the 35th Annual Friends of Legal Services Book Sale. Most paperbacks are just 50 cents, and beautiful hardbound books in like-new condition are just a couple of dollars.
The sale runs from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Friday, June 7, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, and from noon to 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 9, on the Wilson College campus in Chambersburg.

Zion Lutheran Church at 35 West Potomac Street Williamsport Maryland is hosting Pork and Sauerkraut dinner fundraiser on May 22 from 4 to 7 PM. A free will offering will be taken. The menu will include pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, drink, hot dogs for the children and dessert. All are welcome!
John Schildt, historian and author of more than 20 books, will discuss his research methods before the days of computers and the Internet. His first book was published in 1960. He will share details of his sources and discoveries through personal interviews, documents, and libraries.
Schildt, a semi-retired minister, is a guide at Antietam National Battlefield. He has spoken to many Civil War Round Tables and presented at Civil War seminars.
The program on Thursday, May 30, begins at 7:00 pm at Town Hall, 106 East Main Street, Sharpsburg. It is free and open to the public.

Author Justin Martin To Discuss A Fierce Glory
The Sharpsburg Historical Society and the Sharpsburg Lions Club will host author Justin Martin at their combined meeting on Thursday, June 13. The 7:00 pm meeting is at St Paul's Episcopal Church, Community Room, 209 West Main Street, Sharpsburg, MD.
Martin will discuss his approach to the Battle of Antietam by exploring the "dramatic triangle"of Generals Lee and McClellan and President Lincoln. Martin's sources included written records of soldiers and officers and many trips to Sharpsburg and the Battlefield.
Martin, a 1987 graduate of Rice University, Houston, Texas, has published four other books including Genius of Place: The Life of Frederick Law Olmsted; Rebel Souls: Walt Whitman and America's First Bohemians, and a biography of Alan Greenspan, a New York Times Book Review notable book.
