The Interfaith Coalition of Washington County invites you to a joint meeting with the Hagerstown Area Religious Council “The Current State of Religious Tolerance in Washington County”
Tuesday, January 10, 2017
Fahrney-Keedy Home, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, MD
This past year was the 15thanniversary of the tragic events of 9/11. Has tolerance and respect for people of diverse religions and races in Washington County increased or diminished? A panel of local religious leaders will assess the health of our religious climate. This follows up our Statement of Peace which encourages people in our community to use “language that promotes respect and civility and discourage the use of language that demeans others’ beliefs or incites violence.” The concern grows out of the continuing polarization expressed during the recent Presidential election. Come hear what our minority religious communities are experiencing.
