February 25 & March 11, 18 - HCC Free Math Lecture Series

HCC to offer free math lecture series   (Hagerstown, MD) – A free math lecture series will be presented at Hagerstown Community College in February and March. Associate Professor Joseph Mason will present four lectures with a focus on “Viewing Math from a Different Side,” in which he will describe a variety of strategies for performing computational math.                 The first lecture, “Exploring Strategies for Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers,” will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25. The second lecture, “Exploring Strategies for Multiplying and Dividing Whole Numbers,” will be held on Wednesday, March 4. The third lecture, “Exploring Strategies for Adding and Subtracting Fractions,” will be held on Wednesday, March 11. The final lecture, “Exploring Strategies for Multiplying and Dividing Fractions,” will be held on Wednesday, March 18. Each lecture will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in room 506 of the STEM Building at HCC.                 The lecture series is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
