Steak & Wieners



INGREDIENTS

1-1/2 lb round steak, trimmed, pounded with mallet, cut into bite-size pieces
6-8 hot dogs, cut in thirds
1 large onion, sliced
2 T vegetable oil (for frying steak)
1 c ketchup (Heinz works bests!)
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

Heat oil in large fry pan; brown onions, then steak on both sides. Add a cup of water, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover. Add hot dogs and ketchup; cover and cook over medium until heated through (about 20-30 minutes). Serve hot over mashed potatoes.

This recipe may sound a little weird but it's delicious -- try it and you will be amazed what a wonderful gravy you get from just ketchup, water, onions, and drippings!
