Theme: Protecting New Plants Row Cover, Milk Jugs, Yogurt Collars

Soon we will be transplanting baby plants into our gardens. It’s important to get those plants used to the great outdoors and protect them while they are young and tender.

Stop by the Washington County Master Gardener’s booth and get some FREE information on how to do that.

Also feel free to bring any plant or insect questions to the booth for some helpful information.

Theme: Root Crops

The University of Maryland has declared 2013 the YEAR OF THE ROOT VEGETABLE. Some of these can be grown in containers. Come get some information on root crops and consider adding them to your vegetable, ornamental or container gardens.

The Master Gardener Volunteers invite you to bring any pest or plant questions with you to the booth for help or identification. Large good quality photos are helpful. Samples should be in sealed containers or bags.

The Master Gardeners in partnership with the Historic Hagerstown City Farmer's Market are launching a new Children's Learning Area.
 
Master Gardener Volunteers will be welcoming Parents and Children to the Children's Learning Area in Market Alley  from 8:30 to 10:30. This Saturday, March 16, children will discover some Fun and New things about Root Vegetables.
 
This Children's Learning Area will be held on the THIRD Saturday of each month and will offer a different plant related activity and learning experience.
 
This new Children's Learning Area will be in addition to the regularly scheduled Ask a Master Gardener Plant Clinics held at the Historic Hagerstown City Farmer's Market that are held on the FIRST and THIRD Saturdays of each month.
 
Come see what's happening this weekend at Historic Hagerstown City Farmer's Market Children's Learning Area (8:30 to 10:30) and Ask a Master Gardener Plant Clinic (8:00 to Noon).
